We were so blessed to have Curt Nelson at our Easter kids’ services! He is professional and engaging and appealing to all ages (ours were preschool – 5th grade). His magic was mesmerizing and so much fun! He is very good at making the show interactive, using audience volunteers who were thrilled to be chosen! Our parents/volunteers were thrilled and enjoyed the show as much as the children! Book Curt! You won’t be disappointed! We will have him again, and we heartily recommend him!! -Patti McKnight, Director of Children’s Ministry, South Albany Community Church
Thanks for sharing with us last Friday! After the show, our Senior Pastor said his girls laughed so hard during the show and he immediately asked about having you come back again. We loved your Gospel presentation and are already looking forward to next time! –Charisa Burbank, Children’s Ministry Director, Grace Community Church
What stands out most to me is the integrity and passion Curt brings and gives to his audience. If you’re thinking of booking Curt – Just Do It! You won’t regret it! Your kids – and parents – will be asking for more. –Adria Farina-Miller, Salem, OR
You were wonderful. I can’t think of any way to improve! We will be recalling this day fondly until we have you back again! –Molly Sloan, Portland, OR
Shows Designed For Families With Young Kids
There are lots of entertainers you could invite to your next outreach event. But if your aim is to get young families to come, you really need someone who can hold the attention of young kids and make it fun for them.
If the kids are happy and enjoy their experience visiting your church, the parents will be happy, too. (And they’ll probably be back!)
My show is designed from start to finish to be fun and entertaining for young kids AND fun for the parents, too. Combining puppets, magic, humor, and audience participation results in a show that the whole family will love.
It’s perfect for Church outreach events like Fall Festivals, Vacation Bible School, Parent’s Night Out, or special events like Upward award ceremonies, CEF Camp, other Christian camps, etc.
The message you convey to the kids is perfect. What stands out most in my memory is your humor and rapport with the kids. Keep doing what you do! –Denise Torres, Newberg, OR
The Spyence Magic Adventure Show – Kids Jump Into A Fun Adventure, Like Being On A Live TV Show!
Designed for elementary school kids, this program involves all the kids in a fun competition where they work as a team to defeat the Evil Robots. Bob the Dragon and I will be your kids’ team leaders, and the competition will be judged by the celebrity Shark-Rat Super-Sisters. (Your kids, of course, win the competition by successfully completing magical challenges, culminating in an impromptu magical performance that you have to see to believe!)
If you have an audience of families with really young preschoolers, I’ll do a shorter (30-minute) show that is mostly puppets and uses humor appropriate for their age. Preschool-aged kids will love Scruffy the loveable sheepdog, Buster the Bookworm, and a hilarious, interactive routine where all the kids help me make a new magic wand, but it goes wrong at every turn. Ask me about adding this on to your Spyence Magic Adventure Show so you have two programs to attract families no matter what ages their kids are.
Book Curt – you will not regret it. My staff cannot stop singing his praises! –Denise Mapes, Newberg, OR
Gospel Programs or Just-For-Fun Shows
I am a children’s pastor, and I’m amazed by God’s gracious plan of salvation, so I’m thrilled to present the Gospel as part of my show. I use a fun magic illustration that totally holds the kids’ attention, yet doesn’t water down the presentation at all. So if you want me to include a Gospel presentation, I’ll make it as clear and memorable as possible.
On the other hand, some churches have been asking me to do a just-for-fun, family-entertainment show, without the Gospel presentation, to get the community in the doors but without feeling like they’re being hit over the head with the Gospel on their first visit. If that’s what you’d like, I’m happy to help you put on a just-for-fun evening that you can follow-up on and build on later.
It’s totally up to you – if I come to your church, I come to serve you and help you put on the event exactly as you’ve imagined it.
We LOVED you! The kids LOVED you! I think you’ve found your calling. –Patty Holt, Camas, WA
Captivating Magic Shows by a Professional Magician Turned Children’s Pastor
I’m a Children’s Pastor now, but before that, I was a full-time, professional magician. I’ve done over 1,000 magic shows for public schools and public libraries.
And I’ve sold over 5,000 copies of my magic book for children called Roosevelt Rat’s ‘Learn Magic From A to Z.’
If you hire me for your next event, you will get professional service and a professional, top-notch program.
Seriously, that was as close to perfect as I have seen! Every child K-5th was engaged. –Jana Daley, Portland, OR

This was a family event and there were people of all ages watching. Looking around, I saw everyone laughing and enjoying the show — young and old, alike! Curt was entertaining, funny, educational, and professional in every aspect of our dealings with him… Don’t miss out on this great opportunity for your students and families! -Katie Pickrell, Stanwood, WA

Curt is doing something he loves and it shows! — Becky Johnson, Salem, OR
What stands out most in my memory of your performance is your ability to connect with adults as well as children and you are hysterical. You obviously love what you do. The kids were delighted and the parents were just as involved.”

Pricing depends on how many shows you would like me to present and your location.
Number of Shows: Depending on how many folks you’re expecting, you might want to offer multiple showtimes. For example, when I was doing school assemblies, instead of doing 1 show for a school of 500 kids, I always encouraged them to host a couple shows for 250 kids each, or even four shows for 125 kids each. That way everyone is sitting closer and can see better, and a higher percentage of the kids in attendance get to come on stage and be volunteers. Of course, having more shows does cost more, but there’s a huge discount for additional shows because I’ve already taken the time to travel there and set everything up.
Location: I’m based in Corvallis, OR, so shows in OR and WA are going to pay less for travel than shows in Florida, for example. Churches will also save money on travel if we can work together to arrange for me to do events at several churches in the same area. I’ll do everything I can to make the travel affordable for you!
Shoot me an email using the form below and briefly describe what you have in mind. Then I can send you a quote for the number of shows and the cost of travel.
I’m a Children’s Pastor, and I love helping churches — I really want to work with you and your budget, so let’s talk, and we’ll work together to make it happen.
You are awesome. Don’t change a thing! –Jan Peterson-Terjeson, Beaverton, OR
